Aiesec in Jaipur was established in 1995.It started with a member base of 17 students, it has now grown into a member base of around 40-45, representing almost all colleges of Jaipur.
Jaipur, the capital of the state of Rajasthan is an upcoming metropolitan city of India. It has already been placed on the "Tourist Triangle of India". With most of the companies of corporate stature making their present felt in the city, for instance INDUSIND BANK, CENTURION BANK, BENETTON, ICICI, NBC, LARSEN AND TOUBRO etc.
Culturally it has a very rich heritage as it represents the RAJASTHAN STATE, which is considered India's most ethnically rich place. As one can get the most modern of amenities, people, discotheques, shopping -malls, cars, with a touching view of local people, camel-carts, mud-huts, sandunes on the outskirts of city. Majority of the people is "Marwaris", who are known all over the world for their business acumen and trading skills.
Hospitality of the guests, for which India is known, is one of the main attributes of the society over here. Life over here is very calm as the city, has till now experienced very stable governments and peace is what everybody wants here.
As its a mixed type of environment and atmosphere over here, with posh offices of corporates at one side and the rural scene where still there is a need of education, community-development programs etc, so AIESEC as an exchange programme has lots of potential in the city.
